【EYEVAN 7285】 2024AW new frame sunglasses arrived!

Today, from [EYEVAN 7285], the long-awaited 24AW new work has arrived, so I would like to introduce it.

EYEVAN 7285
EYEVAN started in 1972 with the concept of "wearing glasses", and entered the world in 1985.
 
About 40 years later, in 2013, a new design team reconstructed the EYEVAN's past archive and shaped what we think is really beautiful now is the EYEVAN7285 collection. The design sources include not only EYEVAN archives, but also old glasses, telescopes, hand mirrors, other old tools collected by the first design team, artifacts such as buildings that the designer himself saw, nature and natural objects.
 
These vast design sources are blended into a product called eyeglasses. Temples made from French forks manufactured in the 1940s, metal frames incorporating the structure of a visual acuity test frame in the 1970s, and parts inspired by the arabesque patterns of old Japanese temples are embodying that idea.
 
In addition, the products of EYEVAN7285 are produced by a combined production process of manual work by skilled eyeglass craftsmen in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, one of the world's top-class eyeglass production areas, and machine-made by the latest machines. At first glance, the glasses made by combining traditional and new manufacturing methods are often simple and casual designs, but the details are very technical, and even in Sabae, the manual process of limited craftsmen with particularly high technology occupy a lot. Glasses, which are carefully made over time after about 400 processes, can be said to be a modern craft rather than an industrial product.
